When building a garden sauna, a level, load-bearing, and frost-proof subfloor – such as a concrete slab or a stable foundation – is essential. Additionally, sufficient distances to property boundaries should be maintained and local building regulations checked. A suitable power connection, professional installation of the sauna heater, and good ventilation ensure safe and long-term use.

Whether a building permit is required for a garden sauna depends on the federal state, municipality, and size of the sauna. Key factors are usually the footprint, height, and distance to the property line. Smaller models are often considered exempt from permitting procedures, but local building regulations should be checked in advance, and in case of doubt, inquiries should be made with the responsible building authority.

Only high-quality natural wood is used for our garden saunas. Depending on the model, spruce, thermo-pine, or Shou Sugi Ban are used. Spruce impresses with its light, natural appearance, thermo-pine with increased resistance and dimensional stability, while Shou Sugi Ban is particularly durable, weather-resistant, and visually striking due to the special carbonization process.

A garden sauna made of high-quality natural wood is very weather-resistant if professionally processed and properly surface-treated. Specially treated woods like thermo-pine or carbonized Shou Sugi Ban are particularly resistant to moisture, temperature fluctuations, and pests. Regular maintenance and a suitable protective glaze also contribute to long-term value retention.
